And in Arcadia And in Arcadia, the birdsong's growing, and time is slowing but there's no knowing the limits of our dreams. And in Arcadia the chimes are ringing, the trees are swinging, the birds are singing a song of you and me. And in Arcadia the ivy's growing, the days are slowing and where they're going is up to you and me. And in Arcadia the chimes are ringing, and branches swinging. The moon is singing a song for you and me. And in Arcadia the birdsong's growing, and time is slowing and there's no knowing the limits of our dreams.

The Suffering Bastard Ain't nobody need to come around here anymore. Everybody steer clear of me, what's more. Don't be asking me to go down and see to the folks in the cemetery anymore. I used to not mind taking them flowers. I used to not be believing in powers. Ain't nobody need to come around me anymore. Everybody just steer clear of me, what's more. Don't be asking me to go down and see to the plots in the cemetery anymore. I used to not mind taking the flowers. I used to not be believing in powers. I won't tend a grave, I won't tote a wreath. It ain't got nothin' to do with belief. All it took was this note to mess with my head, what reads like a thank-you note from the dead. Ain't nobody need to come around here anymore. Everybody just steer clear of me, what's more. Don't be asking me to go down and see about the folks at the cemetery anymore. I used to not mind taking the flowers. I used to not be believing in powers. I won't tend a grave, I won't tote the wreaths. 215 It ain't got no more use for beliefs. All it took was this note to mess with my head, that reads like a thank-you note from the dead.

Strange Avenues I took a turn down a strange avenue, doomed to pursue glimpses of gold. In the sharp blue light, in the glow of her skin, in the safety of night in the wonders of sin. I see you turn down a strange avenue, doomed to pursue your glimpses of gold. I watched you walk the path to her door, in the sharp blue light, just as I did before. I am what I am, you want what you want, we love what we love, we are what we are. From inside our need, for all that we hope, from such are we turned down dangerous roads. In the sharp blue light, in the scent of her skin, in the hunger for life necessity wins. I am what I am, you want what you want, we love what we love, we are what we are. I've taken turns down strange avenues. In serpentine ways life returns to me.

about

"Quite awe inspiring, to be honest, as the textures and arrangements used are often quite inventive." Scott Homewood, www.rockandrollreport.com

Matt Howarth of www.soniccuriosity.com writes: "This release features 74 minutes of alternative rock music. Joining Arnold on this release is Tess Brunet on vocals and autoharp.

An assortment of sultry tuneage utilizing conventional instruments (guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and vocals). Despite the diversity of instruments, it's the guitar that carries the burden of the music's appeal. Arnold coaxes an inventive plethora of sounds from his guitar, from gutsy to delicate to sinuous to snarling.

Hosts of electronics contribute ouches that serve to cement everything into luscious tapestries of alluring tuneage. The percussion is agile but often understated, providing rhythms that are submerged in the flow. Horns appear in this music, (albeit probably synthesized) lending a certain regal touch.

A lot of these tunes feature lyrical vocals, but there are still a number of tracks which explore a purely instrumental venue. The compositions on this release provide an excellent sampling of material from both styles, vocal and instrumental. Once filtered through Arnold's talents, the result is rock music with a vivid progressive inclination."
